Except of course the roof. The header for the door can be built using 2 4 s or 2 6 s. Skillion shed style roof framing the skillion and shed style roofs are framed with a single slope 2 4 or 2 6 or thicker rafters spanning from the low wall to the high wall. Use 3 nails for each side.

The more overhang the further away water will puddle at the base of your shed. If you are like most people who attempt to build a shed you probably have a good idea of how to do everything construction wise. Roof framing doesn t have to be daunting but if it s your first try a simple gable roof say on a garden shed is the best bet. Fasten the truss by driving 8d finishing nails at an angle down through the board just above the birdsmouth notch and into the underlying wall plate. Complete the roof framing by nailing the 2x4 ridges together and adding two 2x4 collar ties 4 ft.

Use this method to build your shed doors if you are siding your walls before standing them up. This is a little more complicated then the method listed above.

Cut two 2 x 6 pieces of lumber and attach to the face of the wall running from the edge of your garage door jambs to the ceiling of your garage.
